September 9, 2017 (Saturday)
This is Friday night as I write this, and tomorrow morning Dianna will drive me half-way home and Dwight will meet us. I will then go back to Rockport with him. Restoration of power had been scheduled for today by AEP but they are now “assessing” the situation. But I need to go home because Bethel church will be meeting for worship Sunday and I want to be there with the members. On Monday and Wednesday I have medical appointments that have been postponed twice already and I need to go in for treatment. They told me when the appointments were made that I needed to meet the original schedule, so putting it off again is not a good idea.
My two sons, Dwight and Dan, are at the Rockport house, which has a city water supply during the day and limited power with a generator.
I have enjoyed my ten days with Dianna and Mark, Chloe and Sean. Hoping that power will be restored at the Rockport house soon.
All of this seems trite when compared to the immanent arrival of a category 5 hurricane in Florida and a second visit to Caribbean islands by a second major storm after almost being wiped off the map by the first. How will they survive? Let us all earnestly pray for them.
The Bible says, “Pray for one another.” Never has this verse meant more than it does right now. God bless you all and may He give you peace.
