Jesus said, “I give you peace, the kind of peace that only I can give. It isn’t like the peace that this world can give. So don’t be worried or afraid” (John 14:27 CEV).
Sometimes we are guilty of “disturbing the peace,” which is a punishable offense. I’m talking about the “peace of God which surpasses all understanding.” Only Jesus gives us that kind of peace. When we disturb it, we are punished. We are not punished by the Lord; we are punished by ourselves.
There are many experiences in life which can disturb our inner peace, if we allow that to happen. “Oh, what peace we often forfeit, Oh, what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.” “What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear.” If you feel the peace that Jesus gives slipping away, then “tell it to Jesus.” “Tell it to Jesus; He is a friend that’s well known.” “There’s no other such a friend or brother; tell it to Jesus alone.”
Hold on to that peace within that Jesus gives you. Let nothing disturb it.
PEACE IN CHRIST
Nik Day
2017
There is peace in Christ
When we learn of him
Feel the love he felt for us
When he bore our sins
Listen to his words
Let them come alive
If we know him as he is
There is peace in Christ
He give us hope
When hope is gone
He give us strength
When we can’t go on
He give us shelter
In the storms of life
When there’s no peace in earth
There is peace in Christ
There is peace in Christ
When we walk with him
Though the streets of Galilee
To Jerusalem
Let the broken arms,
Dry the tear-filled eyes
When we live the way he lives
There is peace in Christ
He give us hope
When hope is gone
He give us strength
When we can’t go on
He give us shelter
In the storms of life
When there’s no peace in earth
There is peace in Christ
He give us hope
When hope is gone
He give us strength
When we can’t go on
He give us shelter
In the storms of life
When there’s no peace in earth
There is peace in Christ
When there’s no peace in earth
There is peace in Christ
