Allergies

Yesterday the wind blew from the west until early afternoon, and it must have brought with it everything in the brush country that can make people sneeze. I took more medicine to stop it than the law allows, and certainly more than the doctor wants me to take. Finally, later in the day, the sneezing stopped and I found some relief. Of course, I have no proof of any of my suppositions about wind and weather, but human nature seems to like guessing.
Usually it’s a north wind that brings in the strange pollens, etc. The wind in Rockport seldom blows from the west or southwest, but when it does, evidently it can bring problems to wimps like me. I consulted the internet for a list of trees, plants, etc. that grow in the brush country, and an awful lot of stuff grows out there.
Most of the time on this part of the coast the wind blows from the southeast, over the water, and, even though the water can produce a few stray allergens, most of the time it does not.
What are allergic symptoms anyway? I read that they are over-reactions by the body to tiny stuff that the body recognizes as an invader. These over-reactions make the person miserable.
When you think about it, you realize that any kind of over-reaction on our part to anything that happens in life is rarely if ever a good thing and usually ends up by making a lot of people miserable.
