“God is..ready to help when we need him” (Psalms 46:1 MSG)
Recall. That’s what they call the process when defects are discovered in relatively new automobiles. Although cars pass the factory tests, they fail the real road tests.
We have our theories about life, how it should work. We make our plans based on our assumptions that everything will go as planned. But when our theories are put to the test–real life–they don’t always pan out.
Life does not always go as planned by us. Plans are thwarted by circumstances beyond our control. We must shift gears, change directions, or start over–time and time again. That being said, let us never forget and learn to live by Romans 8:28, “We are confident that God is able to orchestrate everything to work toward something good and beautiful when we love Him and accept His invitation to live according to His plan” (The Voice Bible).
The one great constant in our lives is God’s love for us. Along with Romans 8:28, let us never forget and learn to live by Romans 8:38-39, “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow–not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below–indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord” (New Living Translation).
If things are not going well for you, please hold on to Romans 8:28 and Romans 8:38-39. They will do you good. “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble” (Psalms 46:1 NLT).
Remember this old hymn?
To him that o’ercometh, God giveth a crown;
Through faith we shall conquer, though often cast down;
He Who is our Savior our strength will renew;
Look ever to Jesus, He’ll carry you through.
Ask the Savior to help you,
Comfort, strengthen and keep you;
He is willing to aid you,
He will carry you through.
