Ancestry

Have you given much thought to your ancestors? How many do you have? How many have you had? How far back in history do you wish to go? You had two parents, and each of them had two parents. When you start counting your ancestors, you find more than you thought existed. I am 1. My parents are 2. My grandparents are 4. So, here’s how it goes, counting backwards from your grandparents: 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, etc. You have too many ancestors to count. The recorded history of man goes back thousands of years, so you have a lot of kinfolks.
In fact, folks, when you think about it, you are related in one way or another to just about everybody. If you take it from a Biblical point of view, we all have the same original parents, Adam and Eve. That makes us blood kin. Right?
Some people have the habit of calling everyone, “Cousin.” They may not be far from wrong. Right?
Most people would never entertain the thought of robbing a relative, mistreating or killing one. Maybe it’s time for us to take another look at our family tree…….”Cuz.”
