Today or Tomorrow

Great Days — Both of Them

March 29, 2011 (Tuesday)
”picRemember the song from the musical, “Annie?” Here are the words to the last part of it:

The sun’ll come out Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on ’til Tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love ya Tomorrow!
You’re always a day away!
Don’t you just love the optimism in that song? I truly hope it comes true for you, that you get to see the sun come up tomorrow.
Of course, we must remember there are no guarantees that we will have a “Tomorrow.” That’s the reason the big emphasis in the New Testament is “Today.”
James warns us not to put off until tomorrow the good deeds that can be done today (James 4:13-17).
Jesus asks us not to worry about “Tomorrow” (Matthew 6:34).
The Apostle Paul reminds us that we live in a great day: “for He says, ‘AT THE ACCEPTABLE TIME I LISTENED TO YOU, AND ON THE DAY OF SALVATION I HELPED YOU.’ Behold, now is ‘THE ACCEPTABLE TIME,’ behold, now is ‘THE DAY OF SALVATION’ (2 Corinthians 6:2 NASB).
I hope you have a wonderful tomorrow, because today is a great day itself — the day when salvation by grace through faith is offered to everyone in the entire world!
