Yes, for a while at least
March 28, 2011 (Monday)
Yesterday, the Bethel Baptist Church of Ingleside, called me as their interim pastor. The church is about 15 miles from my house here in Rockport. It has been pastorless since last summer, and Brother Mack Caffey has been the interim pastor. He has resigned due to illness. We are all praying for him to get well soon. He did a great job as the interim pastor.
I was interim pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in 1998 and 1999, so this will be my second time to be with the church in this capacity. When Brother Caffey became ill, I supplied the pulpit for him — three Sundays in November and six Sundays in February and March. Considering the fact that the church has not had a permanent pastor for about 8 months, I think they will probably find someone soon. In the meantime, I am thankful for another opportunity to serve the Lord with such wonderful Christian people.
I invite you to pray for the church and for me. I ask that you join them in prayer for wisdom in calling a new pastor to serve with them in an area that continues to grow in population. Many people can be reached there with the gospel.
