Praise God, the doubts are settled

I like the TV program, “Medium.” I absolutely totally do not believe in the kind of psychic phenomena presented in the show, but I still like thinking it is possible. Feel free to psychoanalyze me from afar, but don’t tell me about it.
I suppose it’s comparable to those days sitting in front of the big radio in our living room on Caplin Street, listening intently to “Let’s Pretend,” which presented a dramatized fairy tale every Saturday morning. I knew it was make-believe, yet I hung on every word as if it were true.
We like magic shows, where we see impossible things happen, but we know those things are not real. We like to be entertained like that. We don’t have to believe it really happened, and we don’t have to know how the illusion was created. We can just enjoy it.
There are other things we believe even though we cannot prove them. God is invisible, but we believe He is real. When we talk about faith, we’re not talking about fairy tales, magic shows or fantasy. We’re talking about the real thing. We’re talking about God. In the words of the old spiritual song, “My God is real, real in my soul. My God is real, for He has washed and made me whole. His love for me is like pure gold. My God is real for I can feel Him deep in my soul.” Do you believe?
