Are you sure?

One day two people boarded ferries. One was headed for a Sunday School picnic and the other to a casino. They got mixed up, and each took the wrong ferry. The lady who wanted to go to the Sunday School picnic was miserable at the casino, surrounded by drinking, carousing and gambling. But the guy at the Sunday School picnic was miserable, too. It was not what he wanted.
Did you know that every day we are preparing for our eternal home? Whatever you are learning to love in the here and now, you will be loving for all eternity. If you love heavenly things in this life, you will be very happy in heaven, because you can continue to enjoy the kind of life you loved here. But how about the person who does not love heavenly things? Do we expect that person to suddenly have a new set of desires after death? If a person who despised heavenly things in life were to make it to Heaven, it would not be “Heaven” to him/her.
Remember, both people who took the wrong ferry were miserable. Being miserable in Heaven is not possible. If you expect to love God in a place called Heaven, you need to get in practice.
