The Lord is in first place

Above all else

picture of CharlesA verse often quoted is Matthew 6:33 (KJV), “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” Simply put, this means, “Put the Lord first in your life.”
Make sure your priorities in life are in the proper order. The recipe for joy is J-O-Y, Jesus first, Others next, then Yourself. Throw away your excuses and always do what you know the Lord wants you to do, regardless of how many excuses you may find to do otherwise. God rewards our commitment to give him the first and best.
Don’t be surprised if you worry less after getting your priorities straight. We worry because we are afraid of loss or uncertainty. Jesus reminded us that everyone in the world is seeking material things, but his children should be seeking spiritual things, especially and above all, the Lord. When you focus on him, you will worry less.
You may be surprised to find all your needs met when you trust the Lord and put him first in your life. You will discover that “my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).
Want joy and peace? Give the Lord first place in your life.
