Our Lord does all things well..

..on earth and in Heaven

picture of CharlesToday is my 78th birthday, and the fact does not escape me that I have outlived many of my family members. My parents, and both of my grandfathers, died before they reached my age. It seems strange that they were never as old as I am today.
One wonders how that all works out in The Great Beyond. I have had questions put to me about that, and I have no concrete answers, but I believe it’s all going to make good sense to us, and we will be happy about it. We will be entering an entirely new kind of existence where all things are new and everything is just right.
A quotation stands out in my mind as I contemplate such matters: “He has done all things well” (Mark 7:37).
Octavius Winslow wrote, ”In providence and grace, in every truth of His Word, in every lesson of His love, in every stroke of His rod, in every beam that has shone, and in every cloud that has shaded, in every element that has sweetened, and in every ingredient that has embittered, in all that has been mysterious, inscrutable, painful, and humiliating, in all that He gave, and in all that He took away, this testimony is His just due, and this our grateful acknowledgment through time and through eternity, He hath done all things well.”
As he has done all things well on earth, he will continue to do all things well in Heaven.
