BE HAPPY!
December 25, 2008 (Thursday) CHRISTMAS DAY
Dreaming of a white Christmas? You’ll have to go north this year for it, but a few days ago there was snow from Houston eastward, and four years ago everyone in South Texas woke up to a picture postcard scene because a big snow covered the area. Rockport itself had a lot of snow, as the photo of the harbor, at the bottom of this page, shows. The forecast for Houston this year is 68 degrees and for Rockport, 72. Houston got its snow a little early this year.
Anyway, weather aside, I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and I wish for you and all yours a wonderful new year to come. Happiness is never to be found in what’s going on around us; happiness is a matter of the heart. So I pray you will be happy in 2009. But before that, I pray you are happy in the Lord today. I plan to preach a sermon next Sunday that I love to preach: “Fear Not!” The Scriptures remind us that perfect love casts out fear. So, Merry Christmas, everyone, and Happy New Year!
