A wonderful privilege
October 3, 2008 (Friday)
Today I put on a different hat and become a sitter. Dianna and Mark (my daughter and son-in-law) are going on a business trip for a week and Mark’s parents will be staying with those four teen-agers, but until they arrive on Monday, the job is mine. I’ll be only 40 minutes away and will conduct the services at Timbergrove Sunday. This weekend in The Woodlands gives Grandpa a chance to be with some of his grandchildren for a few days.
As this is being published Friday morning, the House of Representatives is preparing to vote on the economic bill sent to them by the Senate after an affirmative vote. You will probably know if it passed by the time you read this, but no matter how the vote goes, the economic problems are not completely solved, and the discussion, along with legislation, will continue for a long time.
Well, here I am with at least one more attempt to help you see that God loves you and takes care of you. We are promised in the Bible that all our needs will be supplied (not necessarily all our “wants”). It is natural to be concerned about our financial futures, but our faith makes it possible to trust the Lord and find peace in our hearts. The Lord offers and supplies all the spiritual strength we need.
