A great start in VBS. A large gallery of personal photos.
JUNE 5, 2007 (TUESDAY) – My, oh my , what a large group was at the church house today, for the first day of Vacation Bible School. I heard someone say that more than 200 children came, and the grand total, including workers, was over 260, many more than last year. Everyone seemed happy, having a good time, and well behaved. All the workers were well prepared, and the schedules were followed like clockwork. It was great. I feel sure the attendance will be greater tomorrow. How thankful we are for the many wonderful workers who make all this possible.

My son, Dwight, has been posting family photos on the internet, mainly for family members, but accessible to anyone. Here’s the address:
http://flickr.com/photos/dwfake/
Just click on the address if you want to see any of our pictures. So far he has posted nearly 11,000, and he is still adding to it. Some of you will recognize some of the people in the family pictures. There are also other pictures in the collection. For instance, you can type into the search box at the top of the page, “fbc,” and about 150 old pictures of our church and its members will come up. Click on a picture and it enlarges. Click on “all sizes” at the upper left of the picture and it gets larger. If you want to see pictures of me, from childhood to senior citizen, type “Charles.” You get the idea. Not everyone will be interested in this, but some will. A lot of these pictures are pure nostalgia.
The person who started this site, Flickr, is a lady named “Catarina Fake.” We learned this after we had already begun using the site. She is probably a distant relative, since “Fake” is not a common name. She recently reported that she has had to stop flying with certain airlines, because their computers keep canceling her reservations, due to the name, “Fake. “In fact, my son, David, has had the same experience in recent months.
Shakespeare’s Juliet said,
“What’s in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;”
Thanks, Julie.
