Thanks for reading

This blog is number 400. I have written one almost every day since May 11 last year. When I was pastor at Rockport, I did not write a newsletter article every day, but I did write one each week. I calculate that I probably wrote 1500 of those pastor’s articles over a period of 30 years. Writing once a week was easier than once a day. I have to say, however, that writing blogs is more fun because I can write about anything with no holds barred.
I cannot promise what I shall write in the future. For the time being, I seem to be writing more devotional thoughts than miscellaneous journalistic ramblings. But I’m sure that will change. You may have noticed that Saturdays and Sundays are devoted to summaries of sermons, but sometimes those schedules will not be strictly followed. Sometimes devotional thoughts will appear on week days, like yesterday, a Monday. So, like it says at the top, these are “essays of importance, triviality and in-between.” In other words, an any given day, the blog may be about any possible subject. As someone told me not long ago, ”The blog is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re going to get.”
Writing a daily blog is good for an old guy like me. For one thing, it offers a channel of discipline, because it demands to be written every day, whether I feel like it or not. In addition, it keeps the brain active, and makes it exercise. A few people have told me they are blessed by some of the articles, so that’s a good reason to write them, and a source of self-esteem for me. So, if you have ever thought about writing a blog, I’ve given you three reasons to do it. I’m sure there are other reasons as well.
Thanks for reading these little daily dissertations. I really appreciate your interest. Makes me feel good. All over.
