Love Your Neighbor

We can see God in many ways. One of those ways is in the kindness of people as they reach out to help others.. It’s good to see God at work through people.Deep down in the heart, a person knows he/she is not only helping others, but serving God.
I have seen, again and again, acts of Christian love on the part of God’s people. Make no mistake about it, God takes notice and doesn’t forget. Christ in you is blessing the people you help.
Jesus said remarkable things. He said, “Love your neighbor as you love yourself” (Matthew 22:39). Someone then asked, “Who is my neighbor?” Jesus’s answer clearly defined “neighbor” as anyone who needs our help. To clarify what he meant he told the story of the good Samaritan who did everything possible to help a stranger who had been mistreated.(Luke 10:25-37).

Abou Ben Adhem
By Leigh Hunt

Abou Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase!)
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,
And saw, within the moonlight in his room,
Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,
An angel writing in a book of gold:–
Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold,
And to the presence in the room he said,
“What writest thou?”–The vision raised its head,
And with a look made of all sweet accord,
Answered, “The names of those who love the Lord.”
“And is mine one?” said Abou. “Nay, not so,”
Replied the angel. Abou spoke more low,
But cheerly still; and said, “I pray thee, then,
Write me as one that loves his fellow men.”
The angel wrote, and vanished. The next night
It came again with a great wakening light,
And showed the names whom love of God had blest,
And lo! Ben Adhem’s name led all the rest.
