It isn’t raining rain you know

It’s raining … mud!

“It isn’t raining rain, you know, it’s raining violets.” So goes the words of the song, “April Showers.”
How ‘bout when it rains mud? Like recently in South Texas. We’re not used to such things, so we sat up and took notice that something unusual was falling from the sky.
Sometimes, in other places in the world, it has rained frogs, fish or birds. Now that’s worth writing home about. People who witnessed those events said the animals seemed startled, but soon settled down to normal behavior.
I’m sure the challenge to “keep looking up” has taken on new meaning for those who have experienced raining animals from the sky.
Reminds us of ancient Egypt and the plagues that God sent to convince Pharaoh to let the children of Israel leave the country and head for the promised land. I’ve heard some real good sermons about the frogs in Pharaoh’s soup.
Those who saw it rain mud last week now listen carefully to the scripture which says, “thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.”
