“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path” (Psalm 107:105 KJV). Many people have memorized verses of Scripture and find them of tremendous help when called to mind.
In these days of constant reminders all about us that a vicious storm came through this area a couple of months ago, we find remembering those verses to be of great help. I ran across a web site that lists many of those helpful verses. You may already have many of them memorized. If you find one that is special for you, why not take the time to commit it to memory?Click here for 36 Bible verses about God taking care of us.
Holy Bible, book divine, Precious treasure, thou art mine

1 Holy Bible, Book divine,
Precious treasure, thou art mine:
Mine to tell me whence I came;
Mine to teach me what I am.
2 Mine to chide me when I rove,
Mine to show a Savior’s love;
Mine thou art to guide and guard;
Mine to punish or reward.
3 Mine to comfort in distress,
Suffering in this wilderness;
Mine to show by living faith,
We can triumph over death.
4 Mine to tell of joys to come,
And the rebel sinner’s doom:
O thou holy book divine,
Precious treasure thou art mine.
And so it happens again. Yesterday as I rose to preach at Ingleside, I had no idea that another church, at Sutherland Springs, just two hours away, was experiencing a massacre as a lone gunman entered the church and began firing his weapon. Let us pray for the folks there today as we begin a new week. Feelings of incredible sadness fill our hearts as we think about the dead and wounded people who simply went to church yesterday morning, never suspecting the tragedy that awaited them. We have the families of those who were shot on our hearts today and we will be praying for them all.
