Today is Billy Graham’s birthday; he is 99 years old. His team members throughout his lifelong ministry were George Beverly Shea, who died in 2013 at 104, and Cliff Barrows, who passed away in 2016 at 93.
Mr. Graham no longer makes public appearances, but his ministry will always be remembered as one of a kind, and his influence will continue to be felt throughout the world.
He became a friend to presidents, kings and queens, and even the Pope of Rome. And how did he do this? By preaching the simple gospel that Jesus gave us. In his crusades, the Scripture verse, John 14:6, was posted in large letters in the stadia and arenas: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” This was the theme of all his preaching. He remained faithful to the Bible throughout his life as he preached to people all over the world. Without a doubt, he preached to more people in person than anyone in history. If we include his messages by radio, television, books, magazines, newspapers and other media, the number of people who got his message is astronomical.
I am one of thousands of ministers influenced by this man of God. No one will be able to take his place.
