Last Sunday at our church we sang, “I Gave My Life for Thee” as an invitation hymn. Later, one of the members told me she really appreciated our singing that hymn, because she loved its message. Frances Havergal, daughter of a British clergyman, became a prolific poet and hymn writer. She died at the age of 43. Her conversion to Christ was a very moving and meaningful experience for her, and her hymns reflect a deep love for Jesus Christ.
