Theme of blogs for May 2-6, 2022:

Growth of the Church

Based on the Bible Book of Acts.
1. Monday, May 2: Growth of the Church – Beginnings (Acts 1-2)
2. Tuesday, May 3: Growth of the Church – Jerusalem (Acts 3-7)
3. Wednesday, May 4: Growth of the Church – Palestine and Syria (Acts 8-13)
4. Thursday, May 5: Growth of the Church – Advancing (Acts 14-28)
5. Friday, May 6: Growth of the Church – Advancing Still (Acts Unfinished)

When Jesus said, “I will build my church” (Matthew 16:18),” it was mainly a plan for the future, but today it is an accomplished reality. How would you define “church?” Someone said it is “a community of Believers who seek to learn and live out Christ’s teaching in this world.” These series of blogs about the birth and growth of the church seek to remind us of what the Book of Acts tells us.

Jesus Teaching

I LOVE TO TELL THE STORY

Words, Arabella K. Hankey, 1866
Music, William G. Fischer, 1869
“Come and hear, all you who fear God, And I will declare what He has done for my soul” (Psalm 66:16 KJV).
I love to tell the story of unseen things above,
Of Jesus and His glory, of Jesus and His love;
I love to tell the story, because I know ’tis true,
It satisfies my longings as nothing else would do.
Refrain:
I love to tell the story,
‘Twill be my theme in glory,
To tell the old, old story
Of Jesus and His love.
I love to tell the story, more wonderful it seems
Than all the golden fancies of all our golden dreams;
I love to tell the story, it did so much for me,
And that is just the reason I tell it now to thee.
Refrain
I love to tell the story, ’tis pleasant to repeat,
What seems each time I tell it more wonderfully sweet;
I love to tell the story, for some have never heard
The message of salvation from God’s own holy Word.
Refrain
I love to tell the story, for those who know it best
Seem hungering and thirsting to hear it like the rest;
And when in scenes of glory I sing the new, new song,
‘Twill be the old, old story that I have loved so long.
Refrain
