WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS

What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear
And what a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer
Oh, what peace we often forfeit
Oh, what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer
Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you. I will give you peace.” Why would He be so kind and good to you? Because He is your friend. We sing about it, proclaiming to the world that we have a friend in Jesus.
But sometimes we forfeit our peace because we forget that our friend is always with us, encouraging us in every way. We need never feel lonely, because He is our friend and is always with us.
Jesus is faithful to share our sorrows, strengthen us when we are weak, lift our spirits when we are “down,” and He wants to help us. He wants to help you. Let Him be your friend. Call on Him to help.
