This song was written as a testimony to serving the Lord a lifetime. The Gaithers have served the Lord for 51 years since composing it. They sang it in 1965 because they loved serving the Lord. They sing it today because they have found the words to be true in experience as well as faith. My dear friend, Dale Pogue, wrote a blog earlier this week that emphasized this truth. He was gracious in mentioning me along with himself as two who have been serving the Lord a long time. We are thankful for that privilege.
