January 24, 2016 (Sunday) – A great day to go to church!
Ruth Caye Jones wrote the beautiful hymn, “In Times Like These,” in the midst of World War II. She felt that God was giving her the words and music as she wrote them down. As time has gone by, we all have felt pressured by the times in which we live, times in which we need the Lord.
This hymn comforts and strengthens us as we face each new day in troubled times.
“Every adversity every failure and every heartache carries with it the seed of an equivalent or a greater benefit.” – Napoleon Hill |
Words and Music by Ruth Caye Jones 1944 In times like these you need a Savior In times like these you need an anchor; Be very sure, be very sure Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock! CHORUS: This Rock is Jesus, Yes, He’s the One; This Rock is Jesus, the only One! Be very sure, be very sure Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock! In times like these you need the Bible, In times like these O be not idle; Be very sure, be very sure Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock! CHORUS In times like these I have a Savior, In times like these I have an anchor; I’m very sure, I’m very sure My anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock! CHORUS |
