Theme this week: Songs of Marvelous Grace
October 6, 2021 (Wednesday)
Some sweet day we shall be loosed from the cords that bind us to the earth and this life and be free to enter our Heavenly Home and see our Savior face to face. The Bible tells us that we shall worship the Lord in Heaven. Perhaps part of that worship will be giving our testimony and expressing our thanks to the Lord for saving us and bringing us home to Heaven. When we see him, our first desire will be to tell our story: “Saved by Grace.”
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:8-10 NKJV).
SAVED BY GRACE
Words, Frances J. Crosby
Music, George C. Stebbins
1894
Someday the silver cord will break,
And I no more as now shall sing;
But, oh, the joy when I shall wake
Within the palace of the King!
Refrain:
And I shall see Him face to face,
And tell the story—Saved by grace.
Someday my earthly house will fall;
I cannot tell how soon ’twill be;
But this I know—my All in All
Has now a place in heav’n for me.
Refrain
Someday, when fades the golden sun
Beneath the rosy tinted west,
My blessed Lord will say, “Well done!”
And I shall enter into rest.
Refrain
Someday: till then I’ll watch and wait,
My lamp all trimmed and burning bright,
That when my Savior opes the gate,
My soul to Him may take its flight.
