Theme this week: Songs of Marvelous Grace
October 5, 2021 (Tuesday)
Yesterday’s blog taught us to sing from our hearts, “Saved! Saved! Saved!” Today’s blog traces the source of that wonderful testimony. It is made possible by the matchless grace of God. How can I describe it? We are saved by grace, our burden of sin is removed, and our spirit is set free to love and serve Jesus.
We are saved by grace that reaches out to all the lost people of this world. It has reached us who are saved, has pardoned our sin and continues to bless us forever.
God loved the world so much that He sent His own Son to bear the burden of our sin and die for us on Calvary’s cross. We are the recipients of His matchless love. What wonderful grace. What a great salvation!
Listen to “The Cathedrals” present this song acappella.
WONDERFUL GRACE OF JESUS
Author: Haldor Lillenas
1918
1 Wonderful grace of Jesus,
greater than all my sin;
how shall my tongue describe it,
where shall its praise begin?
Taking away my burden,
setting my spirit free,
for the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.
Refrain:
Wonderful the matchless grace of Jesus,
deeper than the mighty rolling sea,
higher than the mountain, sparkling like a fountain,
all sufficient grace for even me;
broader than the scope of my transgressions, sing it!
greater far than all my sin and shame.
O magnify the precious name of Jesus, praise his name!
2 Wonderful grace of Jesus,
reaching to all the lost,
by it I have been pardoned,
saved to the uttermost.
Chains have been torn asunder,
giving me liberty,
for the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.
Refrain
3 Wonderful grace of Jesus,
reaching the most reviled,
by its transforming power
making me God’s dear child,
purchasing peace and heaven
for all eternity,
for the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.
