Sharing My Thoughts

A “blog” (short for “web log”) is an opportunity for a person like me to write about this and that and post it on an internet web site for anyone to see and read. So far I’ve done this pert’ near 2000 times.
Enter “Facebook,” “Twitter,” and other media that provide everyone who desires to do so a way to post their own thoughts. So far, more than one billion Facebook accounts exist, and nearly 650 million Twitter accounts, which allow only brief statements.
The modern devices that promote “texting” have virtually taken the place of writing letters or using the telephone. A common experience nowadays is to walk into a room in which every person is busy “texting.”
There was a time when a “blog” was a new and innovative idea. Now it’s “old hat.” I’m wondering if I should continue to post blogs or move on to participation in social media. If so, I’ll have to get one of those new fangled phones that does just about everything except cook breakfast, and learn how to use it. I’m not at all sure that’s best for me; this old desktop computer serves me very well.
I’ve been doing this for seven years, starting when I was a young man of only 75, so maybe it’s time for me to move on to something else, or just move on. Those of you who have my email address can email me to let me know what you think, if you like.
