Too small?

Have you seen the new saltines? Mini saltines. They are one-fourth the size of the regular crackers, and lots of fun to eat.
I have also discovered mini nillas–tiny vanilla wafers. Also lots of fun to eat, especially if there is some milk chocolate cake frosting for use as a dip.
And “Little” can be a very good thing. Just think of all the little people whose diminutive size got them jobs in “The Wizard of Oz.”
Alan Jackson has a popular hit in which he repeatedly sings, “It’s all right to be little bitty.”
Remember the big vacuum tube? It was replaced with the tiny transistor, the vanguard of miniaturization and a new world of exciting electronic miracles.
There’s an old saying, “Dynamite comes in small packages!”
The picolo player in a great symphonic orchestra stopped playing as the rest of the orchestra filled the great hall with sounds that rattled the windows. He thought his little instrument didn’t matter. He stopped. So did everyone else when the maestro suddenly called a halt to the music. “Where is my picolo?” he raged.
In the grand sweep of God’s work in this world, we may get to thinking we are too small to matter. Not so! We each have our share in this great concert, large or small. And the Lord expects us to do our part.

“Father, where shall I work today?” And my love flowed warm and free.
And he pointed me out a tiny spot, And said, “Tend that for me.”
I answered quickly, “Oh no, not that! No one would ever see
No matter how well my work was done. Not that little place for me!”
The word He spoke, it was not stern, He answered me tenderly:
“Ah, little one, search that heart of thine,
Are you working for them or for me?
Nazareth was a little place, and so was Galilee.”
