Why Jesus Came

”picA man by the name of Richard Anthony has a website entitled, “ecclesia.org.” He has a paper entitled, “15 Reasons Why Jesus Came.” It is a compilation of Scripture references. Click here to read.
In my opinion, the reasons can be summed up with Luke 19:10, “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” The gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and on the third day rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). All this was predicted by the Scriptures and then confirmed by eyewitnesses. After 40 days and at least 11 appearances, he ascended to His Father in Heaven, where he now intercedes for us and from whence he will come in mighty power at a time when He will be least expected. The dead will be raised, all will be judged, and Christ will take His people home to His Father’s House, to live with Him forever.
Here’s what Jesus has done for us and what it should mean to us every day:
“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:5-11 NIV).
Merry Christmas!
