An Amazing Investment

”picThe investment world has an expression, “Risk-Return Tradeoff,” which is the principle that potential return rises with an increase in risk.
That principle was utilized by Jesus as he spoke with potential disciples. Here’s how he put it: “No one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life” (Mark 10:29-30 NIV).
Jesus reminds us that any sacrifice for Him is an investment that will produce rewards beyond all our expectations. Perhaps it is being delayed, but it will come. The words of a wonderful gospel song remind us of this promise:

“It will be worth it all
  when we see Jesus!
Life’s trials will seem so small
  when we see Christ.
One glimpse of his dear face,
  all sorrow will erase.
So, bravely run the race
  till we see Christ.”
