Our country is growing and changing.
The nation was once predominately rural; now it is predominantly urban. Cities that once had thousands of residents now have millions. Growth presents opportunities of many kinds; it also creates problems of many and various kinds–social, economic, political, and others.
“The times they are a’changin'” were lyrics that rang out in the 1960’s by many folksingers. Every decade of our national history has seen changes of many kinds. That trend continues today. Our nation has met every crisis head-on; we will continue to do so.
