”picHere’s a few things you may not know:
1. If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle; if the horse has one front leg in the air, the person died as a result of wounds received in battle; if the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.
2. During your lifetime, you’ll eat about 60,000 pounds of food, that’s the weight of about 6 elephants.
3. Babies are born without knee caps. They don’t appear until the child reaches 2-6 years of age. (Not totally true. They are born with kneecaps made of cartilage that ossifies later).

While knowing these things may spice up your conversations, for the most part, such facts are virtually useless to most of us.
Some questions to ask myself at the end of a day is, “Did I choose my words wisely?” “Did I tell somebody something they really did need to know?” “Did I talk about Jesus today?” That third question makes me think of an old chorus:

“Everybody oughta know,
Everybody oughta know,
Everybody oughta know
Who Jesus Is.
“He’s the Lily of the Valley,
He’s the Bright and Morning Star,
He’s the Fairest of Ten Thousand,
Everybody oughta know.”

While we’re making small talk, it is a good idea to make some big talk. About Jesus.
