Blog stuff

This is not a political blog. I do have political opinions, but I keep them to myself. My main objective in writing this blog is to check up on my thinking abilities. If I can compose an understandable essay, I feel I have at least one more day with a reasonably clear mind. As stated in the mast head, this blog is about items of importance, trivia and in-between. If I seem to be dabbling in the political at times, I assure you it is accidental and unintentional. As the blog title, “Howdy, Yall,” might indicate, this is just a way of saying “Good morning” to friends.
Every language seems to have a way of saying, “Good morning.” There seems to be a universal wish that others might have a nice day.
Of course, not everyone is in the mood for chit chat. Someone has suggested that the response to “Have a nice day,” should be, “Don’t tell me what kind of day to have!”
That brings me to the subject of “comments.” Several people have noted that there is no space in my blog for comments. That is intentional; it is not an oversight. The reason for it is the fact that comments are not always given in a kind way. One would think that benign columns such as this one would never generate negative responses, but they do. A casual reading of news items in newspapers and the comments by readers will surprise you with their caustic approach. Therefore, I think it best just to let this remain a one-way street. If you know me and have my email address, you can comment as much as you like. Just keep my emotional fragility in mind (lol).
