Why are you afraid?

The government worked hard at the last minute to work out an economic program to beat a deadline. They succeeded and everyone breathed a sigh of relief. We had the bill, we beat the deadline, and all the dire predictions about our economic problems were no longer applicable.
Wrong.
The stock market went belly up with the worst losses in years, and the credit rating of the United States was lowered anyway. There are problems with national economies in Europe, and governments there seem to be waiting for the second shoe to drop.
I do not understand economics, national or global, and never have. But I do understand the plain and simple words of Jesus spoken to his disciples amidst a crisis of dire proportions: “Why are you so afraid? Where is your fatih?”
As individual Christians, our trust today is in the Lord. We do not have to comprehend the intricacies of world economics, etc., to have this kind of faith. We simply trust the Lord, and that’s it.
Where is your faith today?
