The Aggies have done it. They’ve developed a variety of Bluebonnets in the Aggie color of maroon. It’s the “Aggiebonnet!” View image
I guess the Longhorns will come out with a burnt orange Bluebonnet. And don’t forget the Baylor Bears green and gold Bluebonnet.
Why do I keep seeing in my mind’s eye an old commercial featuring thunder and lightning and “Mother Nature” saying, “It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature?”
Actually these maroon Bluebonnets were discovered growing naturally, west of San Antonio. Horticulturists have developed Bluebonnets in several colors other than blue.
Will wonders never cease?
