Sneaked up on me
December 1, 2010 (Wednesday)
See the date? You’ve got to be kidding me. December already? What happened to November? Or October, for that matter. And September? Three months have passed since I moved back to Rockport. Seems like I just got here.
Why does time pass so slowly for some activities and so quickly for others? When I watch an entertaining program on television for 30 minutes, I wonder where the time went, but when I spend 30 minutes exercising, it seems to take forever. I guess you could say that’s “Charlie’s theory of relativity,” not to be confused with Einstein’s theory of the same name.
Well, whether time seems to pass quickly or slowly, whatever time we have can be dedicated to the Lord. Paul said to Agrippa, “Short time or long–I pray God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains” (Acts 26:29 NIV). And what was he? He was a believer. He was a follower of Jesus Christ. He was a saved man. And he wanted everyone to believe in Jesus and follow Him as Lord. He wanted people to be saved, whether they were young or old. I wish the same for you.
