We sing, “I need thee, O I need thee, every hour I need thee,” but there are still times in our lives when we feel a greater need for Him to be with us. Those crisis times of accidents, illnesses, quarrels, disappointments, deaths, and other such times. Sometimes, as this hymn points out, we falter and/or fear. When we call upon him, we find Him watching, fully aware of our need of His help. And He helps us.
JUST WHEN I NEED HIM MOST
Words, William C. Poole
Music, Charles H. Gabriel
1908
Just when I need Him, Jesus is near,
Just when I falter, just when I fear;
Ready to help me, ready to cheer,
Just when I need Him most.
CHORUS:
Just when I need Him most,
Just when I need Him most,
Jesus is near to comfort and cheer,
Just when I need Him most.
Just when I need Him, Jesus is true,
Never forsaking, all the way through;
Giving for burdens pleasures anew,
Just when I need Him most.
(Chorus)
Just when I need Him, Jesus is strong,
Bearing my burdens all the day long;
For all my sorrow giving a song,
Just when I need Him most.
(Chorus)
Just when I need Him, He is my all,
Answering when upon Him I call;
Tenderly watching lest I should fall,
Just when I need Him most
(Chorus).

(Musical interlude)
And I need Him, O I need Him,
Every hour I need Him,
O Bless me now my Savior,
I come to Thee.
I need Him every hour
He’s daily with me here,
Temptations lost their power
When He is near.
O I need Thee, O I need Thee
Every hour I need Thee
O bless me now, my Savior….
….Just when I need Him most I come to Him.
