As we wind down from Christmas to the new year ahead, let’s think a few minutes about George Bailey (It’s A Wonderful Life), who thought all was lost, but prayed for help and was sent an angel, who showed him what his life had meant to a great many people. He then realized that his life had been very meaningful and he had been blessed in many ways, not the least of which was the gift of friends who walked with him along life’s road.

Karolyn Grimes, who played “Zuzu,” the little daughter who commented on angel wings, was born in 1940 and left the film business in 1952. She receives fan mail about Zuzu from people thanking her for her role in the 1946 movie. Here she is today:
