Let us Trust the Lord

He loves us

picture of CharlesLogical statements or weird?
“This restaurant is now so crowded that no one comes here anymore!”
“The moon could not have been made of green cheese because God made the moon before he made cows.”
“The moon is more important than the sun because it shines at night when we need it.”
“The smallest man in the Bible was Simon Peter because he slept on his watch.”
“Smoking is first mentioned in the Bible when Rebecca set off her camel (King James Version).”
We could go on, I think, but that’s enough. And enough is enough. Naomi made an illogical statement that you can view in Ruth 1:21, “The Lord has testified against me, and the Almighty has afflicted me.” I say it’s illogical because “The Lord” in Hebrew is the personal name of the God who loves His people and cares for them, and “the Almighty” in Hebrew is the one who has limitless resources to help us. But when we are feeling low we tend to exaggerate our problems and sometimes do not see things clearly. Life eventually got a lot better for Naomi and she was able to understand God’s ways better.
It’s one thing to say we trust the Lord in hard times, and it’s quite another to do it. The months and years ahead will test us as individual Christians as we live through hard times. We can do it. The Lord is able. Our part is to trust Him completely. Let us never forget that He loves us.
