We can see God in deeds of kindness
June 18, 2007 (Monday) – Dianna and Mark are improving each day. Mark’s parents will leave today. I will stay with Dianna and Mark a while longer, because they still need my help.
Friends have been bringing meals each day, and helping in other ways, too.
We can see God in so many ways. One of those ways is in the kindness of people as they reach out to help others. I’ve seen a lot of that this past week, as people have shown their love through kind deeds. Every one of these deeds involved some sacrifice, and in some cases, self-denial. It’s good to see God at work through people. It’s very humbling to know that we are the objects of their love. Deep down in the heart, a person knows he/she is not only helping others, but serving God.
During the year I have been Interim Pastor at Rockport, I have seen, again and again, acts of Christian love on the part of God’s people in the First Baptist Church. Make no mistake about it, God takes notice and doesn’t forget. Christ in you is blessing the people of our community. Especially beautiful are the actions in the community that involve people from all the congregations. Love for our fellow Christians always overflows for the benefit of others.
