Good things happen when people are kind to each other
June 15, 2007 (Friday) – Dianna had her surgery Wednesday and came home Thursday. Today is Mark’s turn. He is due at the surgery center at 8:30 a.m. for sugery on his broken finger at 10:00 a.m.
Dianna rested well after coming home yesterday, a wonderful change from the day before, when she was in such pain.
We had a lovely dinner yesterday, provided by a dear friend and loving neighbor. We were told to expect dinner each day for the next week. Such kindness and generosity is the work of God in the hearts of people. “Love one another” is the theme that the Lord wants the whole world to know and practice. Such loving acts happen every day all across the country, but they never make the evening news. We need to remember, when we watch the news, listen to the news, or read the news, that many good things are happening at that very moment in every community across the wonderful land of ours. Knowing about the good won’t make the bad go away, but should give us some balance in the way we view our world.
Deeds of love are performed every day within our church family. We care about each other, and want the best for each other. In times of need, we pray for each other, and we do what we can to help each other. “We are members of one another” (Ephesians 4:25), for we are parts of one body.
