It’s Saturday again

Have a nice day today

June 28, 2008 (Saturday)
picture of CharlesWhat do you do on Saturday? What do people in general do on Saturday? Lots of different things.
Some folks go to work on Saturday just like they do Monday through Friday. Theirs is a six or seven day workweek.
Many people do yard work on Saturday. It’s the day to mow the yard, tend the plants, water the flowers, trim the bushes, etc.
Many sleep late on Saturday and watch a lot of television.
Many parents and children take to the soccer fields and Little League ball parks. Some families take a short trip, or go sight-seeing.
Some go to the movies, usually later in the day.
On and on we could go. Everyone does something, usually something different from what they do on the other days of the week. Something in the air says this is Saturday, a different kind of day.
One of the things I always did as a pastor (more before retirement than now) was to make final preparations for Sunday. If the sermon had been slow in coming, many Saturdays found me in my study, still looking for the rest of the Sunday message. Saturday evenings were usually spent at home, getting ready for Sunday one way or another, so that we could awaken rested on Sunday morning, get ready and join our friends in Bible study and Worship.
Today is Saturday. Whatcha gonna do?
