August 19, 2019 (Monday)
Blogs published over the weekend encourage us to worship God in all of His Glory.
Saturday: We Shall Behold Him
O we shall behold Him, we shall behold Him
Face to face in all of His glory
O we shall behold Him, yes we shall behold Him
Face to face, our Savior and Lord
Sunday: Majesty
Majesty, Worship His Majesty
Unto Jesus be all glory, honor, and praise
Majesty, Kingdom authority
Flow from His throne
Unto His own His anthem raise
The word, “Hallelujah” means “Praise the LORD.” There are a group of Psalms known as the “Hallelujah Psalms,” because they emphasize praising God in all of His glory.
When Moses was on Mount Sinai, communing with God and receiving the tablets of stone that contained The Ten Commandments, he petitioned God, “Show me your glory,” and God replied, “I’ll show you my goodness.” Did God refuse his request, or is the goodness of God the very essence of His glory?
When I go to church, I go to praise God. I praise Him for His goodness, His mercy, His grace, His guidance, His love, His peace, His joy, His lovingkindness, His patience, His wisdom, His tender care, His challenges to me to walk more closely with Him, His Holy Spirit’s power that enables me to be gentle, and His spiritual power that makes self-control possible in my life.
When I enter the building, I begin to worship, thanking the Lord for the fellowship of Christians and sharing my love for Him with them, I worship as prayer requests are made, and as someone leads us all in prayer, joining them in my heart, I worship as the offering is given, for it represents the fact that I believe and obey the Lord, I worship as I or someone else presents a message from the Lord for my edification and spiritual growth, I worship as the invitation to follow Christ is given and I pray for the souls of all who are present, I join in the benediction as God’s desire to walk with us is celebrated. Worship is all of that and more.
“To God be the glory, to God be the glory, to God be the glory, for the things He has done!”
