Dottie Rambo was a prolific writer of Christian songs. One cannot help but wonder why she was taken from us in an automobile accident in 2008 when she no doubt had many more songs in her heart that she would have gladly shared with us. She wrote at least 2500 songs. This song asks the Lord to remind us of His amazing grace toward us who have been blessed beyond measure even though we are unworthy of His matchless love.
Remind Me Dear Lord
Dottie Rambo
The things that I love, and hold dear to my heart
Are just borrowed they’re not mine at all.
Jesus only lets me use them to brighten my life.
So remind me remind me dear Lord.
Roll back the curtain of memory now and then.
Show me where you brought me from and where I could have been.
Just remember I’m a human, and humans forget.
So remind me, remind me dear Lord.
Nothing good have I done to deserve God’s own son.
I’m not worthy of the scars in his hands.
Yet he chose the road to calvary to die in my stead.
Why he loved me I can’t understand.
Roll back the curtain of memory now and then.
Show me where your brought me from and where I could have been.
Just remember I’m a human and humans forget.
So Remind me, remind dear Lord.
Just remember I’m a human and humans forget.
So Remind me, remind dear Lord.
