Telling a Story

My grandaughter, Melinda Hodges, gave me a gift that has proved to be quite interesting. She gave a subscription to “Storyworth.” Each week I receive a question and then write an answer to it. So far I have received five questions:

Where did you go on vacations as a child?
What were your grandparents like?
How did you get your first few jobs and what did you do?
What was your first big trip?
What are your favorite movies?

I can suggest other questions if I choose to do so.
At the end of this journey, all my answers will be compiled into a book. It should prove to be something that my granddaughter, and perhaps others, would like to have as a keepsake.
I’ m not sure how many people read this blog, but there may be some folks out there who find this fascinating enough to subscribe themselves, so that their families may have the writings in the future. Just look up “Storyworth” on the Internet and I’m sure you will find all the information you need.
I have a dear friend who writes a journal every day. Some day his family will have it as a treasure. He has already written many volumes. I know of nothing like it.
JoAnn Morgan has been posting on facebook the daily journals of someone who lived here long, long ago. Those posts are very, very interesting. It’s almost like getting into a time machine and going back to experience the adventures of others in this very place.
Anyway, I thought I would mention this while it’s on my mind. Maybe someone will try it themselves.
