The hymn for this weekend is, “Silent Night, Holy Night” The song was written in Austria 200 years ago. A story about it that always comes to mind at this time of year happened on a battlefield of World War 1.
The opposing groups of soldiers were resting on Christmas Eve when the Germans began singing the song in German. The British took up the song and soon they were singing together. After a while they broke ranks, came into the open and celebrated Christmas Eve together.
