The hymn we have chosen for today is “God On the Mountain.” One of the lines in the song says, “The God of the good times is still God in the bad times.” This is a hard lesson that most of us have to learn, because life has its ups and downs, its pleasures and its pain.
We should always remember that Psalm 23 not only says, “I lie down in green pastures;” it also says, “I walk through the valley of death.” The song we are focused on today names several such contrasting scenes, some of which are pleasant and others that are painful, but God is always present, whatever the circumstances.
The Apostle Paul wrote from an undeserved prison, “I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances” (Philippians 4:11 NIV). He adds, “Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am” (MSG).
As you listen to this song, you will identify with some of it without trying to do so. It deals with life as it is really lived, day by day. “Some days diamonds; some days stones.”
The great confession for me is that God is with me just as He promised, and has never forsaken me. Jesus said, “I will be with you, all the way to the end” (Matthew 28:20.

Life is easy, when you’re upon the mountain. And you’ve got piece of mind, like you’ve never known. But things change, and you’re down in the valley. Don’t lose faith child, you’re never alone
For the God on the mountain, is still God in the valley. When things go wrong, He’ll make them right. And the God of the good times, is still God in the bad times. The God of the day, is still God in the night
We talk if faith when, we’re upon the mountain. But the talk comes easy, when lifes at its best. But its down in the valley, of trials, and temptation. That’s when your faith is, really put to the test
For the God on the mountain, is still God in the valley. When things go wrong, He’ll make them right. And the God of the good times, is still God in the bad times. The God of the day, is still God in the night
