“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” (Revelation 21:4).
The tears of Revelation 21:4 were understandable, because they were caused by physical and emotional pain of Christians of that era who were suffering persecution and torture. The hope of having their tears wiped away by the Lord Himself was comforting.
But God’s comfort was not reserved for the martyrs, although it was to be given to those of that era and all those who have suffered because of their faith, right up to the present day in many countries. No, God’s promise to wipe away our tears is an all-encompassing act of comfort promised to all His children. This world has been called a “vale of tears,” and there are plenty of reasons for us to weep, such as physical pain of illness, sorrow because of loss, feelings of rejection, extreme disappointment, and on we could go, naming reasons for tears.
But there shall be no tears in Heaven. God has promised His children eternal joy and peace of mind in their Eternal Home. His presence there assures us of happiness forever.

1. No tears in heaven, no sorrows given.
All will be glory in that land;
There’ll be no sadness, all will be gladness,
When we shall join that happy band.
CHORUS:
No tears (in heaven fair)
No tears, no tears up there,
Sorrow and pain will all have flown;
No tears (in heaven fair)
No tears, no tears up there;
No tears in heaven will be known.
2. Glory is waiting, waiting up yonder,
Where we shall spend an endless day;
There with our Savior, we’ll be forever,
Where no more sorrow can dismay.
CHORUS
3. Some morning yonder, we’ll cease to ponder
O’er things this life has brought to view;
All will be clearer, loved ones be dearer
In heav’n where all will be made new.
CHORUS
