Yes, you can

Every morning we are treated to the coo of the dove. Doves in this area of Houston are heard every day. Their song fills the air.
I suppose the cooing of the dove is not actually a song, because the sound does not come out through the beak. The dove inflates its esophagus and the sound radiates. Studies have shown that acoustical principles are at work that involve band-pass filters similar to those in our electronic radios and amplifiers. The dove knows absolutely nothing about this. It just coos.
The same principle of positive performance applies to the bumble bee. The laws of aeronautics say the bumble bee cannot fly. Its body is too big and round and its wings are too small. Fortunately for the bumble bee, it doesn’t know this and flies anyway. The bumble bee believes it can fly. It’s not trying to prove a point. It just flies.
I recall a black and white animated cartoon television commercial during a bad recession in our country. It was about a guy that sold hamburgers. He made great hamburgers, and people flocked to his little hamburger stand to buy them. Fortunately, he was also deaf. He was so busy selling hamburgers, he didn’t read about the bad economic times. He just laughed and sang as he made money hand over fist, selling great hamburgers. He didn’t argue about whether times were good or bad. He just sold stuff.
Henry Ford once said, “If you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re probably right.”
Why let others get you down and keep you from being successful in what you do? Why let them rain on your parade? Why not just adopt the words of Scripture as your motto today: “I can do everything through him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13 NIV).
