The date above is the date I wrote a blog over three weeks ago. Somehow the blog has been lost, so I will try to recall some of the things I wrote about. I was with Dianna and her family in The Woodlands at the time. (It is now September 25).
The blog told about Dwight’s hard work in preparing for the storm, and my not being able to help much because of a wrist injured on July 7 that was very slow in healing. Dan decided to go to Beeville, rent a motel room, and ride out the storm there. After the storm, he purchased a generator and brought it to our house in Rockport. His apartment was without power, the Aransas Pass Wal Mart, where he works, was damaged so he was staying with us for the time being. We also were without power, but we had the generator for the refrigerator and fans.
On Wednesday, August 30, after the storm, Dianna telephoned me to tell me she was on her way to Rockport for the purpose of taking me back home with her (Her house was virtually untouched by the storm, and still had power. Her neighborhood did not flood.) So, there I was, at the Hinze home, waiting for the right time to return to Rockport. I decided to use her computer and write a blog, which I also posted on facebook, saying basically what I have written above. (On September 9, Dwight met Dianna and me halfway, and drove me back home. We still had no power, but the Bethel church had it, and we met for worship on September 10).
The original blog, “I Am Here,” Sept 1, 2017, was somehow lost but I think the blog I’m writing now pretty much describes what it said.
